Visual Impact Analysis

We were retained by Stantec Consulting Ltd. to undertake an aesthetics assessment of the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project. The proposed gas pipeline route through British Columbia crosses several locations that are visually sensitive from known viewpoints. IFS conducted a visual impact assessment for each potentially sensitive site. Through a combination of field visits, numerous field photographs and production of digital terrain models upon which a simulated rendering of the disturbance was possible, each viewpoint was assessed as ranging from no visual impact to major visual impact – whereupon alternate mitigating strategies were identified.
