Multiphase Pre-harvest Cut Block Development
IFS was retained to identify stands of deciduous trees within the Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area that were suitable in size and quality for Oriented Strand Board (OSB) production and develop these locations for future harvesting operations. After initial identification of stands of trees suitable for milling, stands were field marked with ribbon and paint and block boundaries were GPS’ed to facilitate map location and production. Additional field work included road location to proposed cut blocks, development of post-harvest silviculture plans and timber cruising for merchantable volume determination.
